“Unfolded” Finds #01 ‘East’ Williamsburg, NY
Hall passes give me time travel capabilities to a Beetlejuice scenario, with long bright hallways, their geometric endlessness spinning off in a cobra coil. Eternal student delirium or no, these are always fun to find.
I’ve been doing a lot of sidewalk running. Although it’s a frequently slippery adventure, and certainly not a soft ground, it proves to be a plentiful paper trail. New York streets are very diverse, and therefor always yield some daily treasure.
I’ve always been a runner, but my normal routes had been typically baren, hilly and highlighted with a few friendly, or very fast-moving vehicles. My first prized find was early summer 1998, the disc caught light from a grassy ditch off the road. I cleaned it up at home and uncovered a barely scratched Good Will Hunting Soundtrack! Growing up without T.V., new music primarily came to me through the school bus radio. I was starved…
I met Elliott Smith on the side of the road, a mile from the house I grew up in. This proves that treasures are awaiting. These findings are dedicated to the curiosity of the human spirit.
